Challenge
Neutral Home, a company which helps home owners and housing associations become carbon neutral, had a website that wasn’t peforming well and an identity which didn’t work well on screen. Furthermore, they had 2 very distinct audience types (home owners and housing associations) which made the messaging on their old website and bit muddled and confused. Therefore they weren’t getting many enquiries.
SOLUTION
Firstly Reactive set-about refreshing the Neutral Home logo, with the key change being just to make the name more prominent as it is quite a descriptive name and makes it obvious what service they offer. The old icon & colour pallette was retained for familiarity for existing customers. A new typeface was introduced which could be used throught the website identity. In terms of the website itself, it was decided that a landing page solution would work effectively, which would then link off into 2 distinctive sub-pages whose messaging would directly target the 2 distinctive audience types, and whilst a similar layout of modules could be used for each audience type, imagery and colour palettes could be altered to appeal to each distinctive audience. The overall solution perfectly suited the challenge Neutral Home faced, with messaging becoming a lot more clearer which resulted in greater enquiries.
TARGETTING 2 AUDIENCE TYPES
The biggest challenge in the Neutral Home website was catering for 2 distinctive audience types, and the landing page solution into 2 sub-sites was the perfect answer. The sub-page for ‘Individual Homes’ could be made to look more premium & exclusive as this audience type tended to have more disposable income, with messaging focussing on their needs and motivators. The sub-page for ‘Housing Associations’ had a different look and feel and focussed on the different benefits related to this larger type of organisation.
