Challenge
Energy Costs Managed approached Reactive Design with a need to overhaul a website which wasn’t projecting the right image or communicating the unique benefits of using their services. Like many start-ups, the existing site was done themselves on wix, and whilst it gave some sort of web presence – the client had seen it’s limitations and was ready to step things up to have a better “virtual shop front” for the business that would start attracting customers and give a more professional image whilst promoting all the USP’s of using Energy Costs Managed.
SOLUTION
Every project begins with a kick off meeting to fully understand the clients background, needs and aspirations. From the outset it was discovered that Energy Costs Managed are indeed “Energy Consultanst with a difference” and this needed to be played upon and emphasised more, and the reasons why. Reactive carried out industry research to understand what competitors were doing, in order to do something quite different. It’s always refreshing to get a client who are prepared to think outside the usual modes of doing things, and take onboard our ideas. We came up with a website which is quite different to anything else in the market, both in terms of look & feel, and direct messaging. The client was thrilled with the result and it’s helped re-energise the business.
Website design approach
A lot of the new website look & feel played off the theme of ‘Energy Consultants with a Difference” which we felt was a key brand identifier (and tagline) to develop. Consequently the website is quite different to the old website (as you can see below) and more importantly it’s different to competitor websites.
To achieve this “different approach” a variety of techniques where utlised such as: vibrant bold colours, moving image and large photos (to make it clear what sectors the client operated in and was targetting) big, bold & direct headlines (again to make it clear what sectors were being targetted and emphasise USP’s), key stats (to show experience), supplier logos (to add credibility), testimonials (to show positive customer experiences).
Alongside key content and imagery, animations, moving elements and nice transitions where also applied to attract the eye and emphasise key aspects of the business (view the actual website to see the moving elements). It was great to work with a client who was open to trying somethjing different and the initial results and feedback has been very positive.
