Challenge
A Star Solutions provides award-winning school attendance software and support to schools across the UK. They had an existing website which wasn’t working as well as it could or converting.
Together we highlighted a few issues with their existing website:
• It looked dated and somewhat childlike with the illustrative cartoons used which wasn’t appealing to key decision makers
• It didn’t effectively communicate the quality and functionality of their cutting-edge attendance software
• It failed to communicate their Key USP’s or highlight the complimentary support services they offer which is a key differtiator.
In addition to the website A Star Attendance also had an upcoming event to attend. They needed their website refreshed quickly, along with complementary exhibition stands and leaflets to support their presence at the event.
SOLUTION
Using Reactive’s expertise across both print and digital, we supported A Star Solutions with all of their project requirements, delivering an efficient and cost-effective design service.
Our first step was to understand their competitors, their target audience, and the key decision-makers who would ultimately choose this software. From there, we created a clear content structure designed to communicate their USPs effectively, particularly their unique combination of both software and support.
In terms of look, feel, and user experience, we developed a more polished and modern approach to showcase their cutting-edge technology — a significant move away from the previous cartoon-style website. We used contemporary design & web development techniques, including video, transitions and interactive elements, to better communicate the technological strengths of their platform.
Testimonials and case studies helped reinforce the reasons to choose A Star Solutions, while blog posts and podcasts were included to support organic SEO and increase exposure across social media platforms.

Right: This graphic shows the old website homepage, which typifies the cartoon-like illustrative style used throughout. While the look and feel reflected a school-style approach, it appeared aimed more at children rather than school decision-makers.
Below: The new website adopts a more software-led content style and visual identity, highlighting its cutting-edge nature. It features screenshots of the actual platform and demonstrates the insights that can be derived from the software. The websites interactive nature and animations and transitions further enhance the user experience.

Below: Testimonials are a highly effective way to communicate the benefits of a service or product, so we aim to incorporate them wherever possible. However, reviews can sometimes feel impersonal — or worse, inauthentic. For A Star Attendance, we used real images of actual school staff who use the platform. This helped reinforce the benefits of the software, added credibility, and made enquiries more likely.
To compliment the website for A Star Attendance Solutions upcoming exhibition event – we produced a a large lighbox and flyers which had the same consistent look & feel for a seamless brand experience and to drive traffic to the website.
